sachin vs lara

it has always been compared over the ages between these two guys,sachin tendulkar and brian charles lara.both are equally gifted,sachin is the master blaster and lara the prince of windies cricket.there is nothing much to differentiate between these two.both are brand ambassadors of their own game,both are thorough gentlemen,both are immensely talented.but who is the better amongst the two..though both have innumerous records amidst them its been quite a debate atleast amongst the fans to find out who comes out firing on all cylinders and reign supreme.now with careful considerations it can be inferred that sachin has a lot of runs in both forms of cricket but what has been doubted all over these years is his ability to win crunch games unlike lara,sachin and lara have a great record against the ausies.but in consistency sachin is more supreme.he hasnt had as long a bad patch as lara.he has remained the sole batsman for india until the advent of the fab4.but lara till he retired had to do it all alone.he had chanderpaul,sarwan during his trilight and hooper before that.sachin has also started to do exceedingly well in crunch situations atleast of late.he shouldered responsibilty during the 2008 tour down under.he had 2 huge tons in tests and was superb in both the finals.lara has his due as well.but to me sachin has the edge over lara now atleast since he has carried more expectations than lara since he is an indian,also he doesnt have the advantage of being a southpaw,he has always played with major injuries like the tennis elbow.he is good in seaming wickets and swinging conditions however he is godly in batting strips..lara was tentative early on wheras sachin if in form was always in great touch.he judges lengths more precisely and earlier than the prince himself.also he has played for as many as 20 years..he was far more threatening when he is in form than lara..so here we go,sachin edges past lara,but its a close call...
